SewCycle

My First SewCycle

My initial prototype was made out of wood scraps and a cheap Chinese cobbler machine. I made it over a weekend and had low expectations. To my utter horror it worked and was a ton of fun. I modified it several times before moving on to better designs and sewing heads.

The Schwinger

I wanted to make a machine with all my favorites. Something that screamed American made and sturdy. So I took an old Schwinn exercise bike and paired it with a vintage Singer 66. This worked great for light projects and really produced a lovely stitch.

Portable Schwinger

This is the machine that I take with me to all my events. It is another old school Schwinn Exercise bike paired with a smaller Singer 99. When I take it with me to craft shows everybody has a story of their parents/grandparents using something similar. When folks test it out they are amazed how easy it is.

My Daily Rider

This is what I use to stitch most of my wallets. It is a Consew 255 walking foot sewing machine that was designed for leather. It can go through just about anything and makes a beautiful stitch. I put a Schwinn spin bike underneath to power it. This is the best combination of power, speed, accuracy and comfort... and did I mention it is a blast?
